Zulfa Moves Closer to Becoming an Operational Facility
If you walk around the Zulfa Food Industries site today, you'll notice that the project is starting to look very different from just a few months ago. While construction is still underway, many of the buildings are now moving into their final stages, with teams focusing on the details that will prepare the factory for day-to-day operations.
Work continues across the main factory, where construction crews are completing masonry and plastering while installing the electrical infrastructure needed to support the production lines. Progress is also being made at the storage hangars, where floor preparation, wall construction and structural concrete works are helping bring another important part of the facility closer to completion.
Inside the administration building, the atmosphere is beginning to feel less like a construction site and more like a workplace. Plastering and internal partitioning are almost complete, while communications systems, electrical services and smart network infrastructure are being installed throughout the building. It's another sign that the project is gradually moving from construction into preparation for daily operations.
The outbuildings are also nearly finished, several of them. The hotel is now ready for handover, pending only the final decorative works. The Engineers’ Building and VIP Building are in the last stages of completion. Work is also continuing inside the workers' accommodation, where bathrooms are being fitted out and preparations are underway for fire protection and surveillance systems.
Elsewhere around the site, attention has turned to the facilities people will use every day. Kitchens, dining halls and the meeting hall are all receiving their final finishes, while the Prayer Hall is almost ready for use. Plans are also for the internal roads, walkways and landscaped areas that will link the various parts of the project once the factory is up and running.
The work has continued despite a period of unusually high temperatures and strong winds, which slowed productivity across the site. Yet contractors stayed on schedule, with teams adjusting their work where necessary and focusing on worker safety.
It's often the finishing stages that make the biggest difference. They may not attract the same attention as heavy construction, but they're the final pieces that bring a project together. With more buildings nearing completion each week, the Zulfa Food Industries project is steadily moving closer to becoming a fully operational manufacturing facility.
