As Construction Nears Completion, Zulfa Begins Preparing for Operations
Zulfa Food Industries project hits another milestone as work begins to move beyond structural construction and into preparing the factory for day-to-day operations. At the same time, several key finishing works are being completed, and technical planning is underway for systems that will support the facility once production begins.
During the past week, construction crews completed several critical finishing tasks inside the main factory building. The facility has now been internally and externally plastered, and window finishing and marble installation has also been completed.
The supporting infrastructure of the factory has also been progressed. The fuel tanks have been lowered into their planned locations, where they will be prepared for installation and commissioning as part of the plant’s future energy supply system. Meanwhile, the entire facility is being thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the next phase of technical installation, with construction materials cleared away and work spaces made ready.
The focus is also being put on the systems that will support the factory once operations begin. Representatives from the project’s technical, operations, security and safety teams recently met with Al Tour Company for Connections and Systems Networks to begin planning the surveillance and access-control systems for the factory. Proposed locations of surveillance cameras, thermal imaging devices and fingerprint access systems were discussed and preliminary layouts were prepared to support future installation.
A lot of this work is behind the scenes, but it’s an important part of preparing the factory for long-term operation. Construction is only part of the process. Equally as important is to make sure that the infrastructure, security systems and operational facilities are in place and ready to go before production starts.
