Zulfa Starts To Look More Like A Completed Facility

Things are beginning to change at Zulfa Food Industries, but construction continues across the site, with focus on completing buildings, preparing technical rooms and readying spaces for the equipment storage.
The accommodation area is one of those places where it’s becoming easier to see the difference. The Engineers’ and VIP Buildings are furnished and have been provided with electrical and security systems. Painting and furniture installation are also completed in the workers’ accommodation, with the remaining work being largely focused on bathrooms and other finishing touches.
Outside the first road and pavement work has started around the hotel. The routes will eventually link the different parts of the area and make it easier to get around the site. Work is also progressing on the meeting halls, gyms, restaurants and dining areas, several of which are approaching their final stages.
The factory itself is still a very much working construction site. In some areas the work of cleaning and levelling has been done and walls and facades are being prepared for painting. Teams are working on partitions and plastering in the warehouses and wall construction has started in the workshop and maintenance hangar.
Progress has also been made in the parts of the factory that will eventually keep everything running, like the Main Electrical Room and the UPS Battery System Room have been handed over so now they can proceed with equipment installation. The Central Air Compressor Room has come to the same point, while the work in the Chiller Rooms is still to be done.
Meanwhile, the team is starting to answer some of the practical questions that come with getting closer to operation. Raw materials, storage, production needs and quality requirements, as well as the work still being carried out by the different contractors and technical teams on site were discussed during meetings.
Safety is receiving the same attention, the draft plans for the firefighting system, main water tank and gas storage tank were all topics of discussion during the last team meetings. Then the final drawings are approved and the work moves ahead. Locations, connections and safety requirements are reviewed.
Zulfa is not done yet, and there is still work going on in almost every part of the site. But the project starts to feel different. Furniture is being installed in buildings, roads are being set outside, technical rooms are being handed over and spaces that had been under construction not long ago are being prepared for their final use.
