The Story of Libyan Cement Company (LCC)

Behind every building and piece of infrastructure built across Libya over the past 60 years, cement was the foundation for all of the projects and much of it came from Libyan Cement Company (LCC). Yet for almost 60 years, LCC has quietly played an important part in many of those projects. From 1965, the company has been producing the materials that help turn an idea into homes, businesses, factories and public infrastructure. Now, after nearly 60 years of steady growth, LCC begins a new chapter as part of Alushibe Holding Group.

Libyan Cement Company has grown into one of Libya's best known cement manufacturers. The company employs more than 1,200 people and operates three production facilities across the country, producing over two million tonnes of cement each year. This allows the company to supply customers in different regions and support projects of every size, from local housing developments to large infrastructure works.

What makes a company function for decades isn't only the products it makes. It's the ability to keep improving while staying dependable. Throughout the years, LCC has continued to upgrade its facilities, adopt newer technologies and improve the way it operates, while building a team with the experience and knowledge needed to maintain quality of the product.

LCC's cement is used in many different types of projects, including residential communities, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, roads, bridges and public developments. Although every project is different, they all depend on reliable materials. That's a responsibility LCC has carried for generations and continues to do so today.

Now, as part of Alushibe Holding Group, the company has an opportunity to keep building on everything it has achieved over the past six decades. The focus isn't on changing LCC as a company, but on giving it the support to continue growing through investment in its people, production facilities and modern manufacturing technologies.

The values behind the company have remained the same over the years: quality, integrity, innovation, sustainability and respect for people. Those principles are reflected not only in the products it produces, but also in the way it approaches safety, develops its workforce and looks for ways to improve.

As Libya continues to invest in new homes, infrastructure and industry, the demand for building materials will only grow and LCC will be the one to cover all the needs. Libya Cement Company is preparing for that future by modernizing its operations and improving efficiency with an idea to remain a trusted partner for the country's construction sector for many years to come.
