New Products, New Plans and What’s Next for Zulfa and Tetra Pak

As Zulfa Food Industries nears its goal of bringing its Benghazi operations online, the company isn’t just concentrating on that short-term task, it’s looking forward to what’s next.
Zulfa held meetings with Tetra Pak, its strategic partner in packaging solutions on the progress of the project and opportunities to expand cooperation between the two companies.
The meeting brought together senior representatives of both sides. Tetra Pak was represented by President and CEO Adolfo Orive, Managing Director for Egypt, Libya and Sudan Stelios Mourouglakis and Sales Director Walid Shehata.
The meeting was also attended by Ahmed Gadalla, Chairman of Alushibe Holding Group. Zulfa Food Industries was represented by Chairman, Ahmed Fathi, General Manager, Mohamed Mansia and Owner’s Representative, Masoud Al-Karati. Zulfa shared its plans to expand further, and for the development of new products, and both sides discussed how their existing partnership could evolve with those plans.
Packaging is an important part of the total production process for Zulfa. Working with a company with Tetra Pak’s international experience provides the company with established packaging expertise as it prepares to produce food and beverage products in Libya.
There was also discussion of the wider opportunity of Libya’s expanding food and beverage industry. Local production increases means building the manufacturing capacity, technical knowledge and partnerships to produce more goods in the country instead of just relying on imported goods.
As work on the factory progresses, attention is shifting more and more toward production, new products, and the partnerships that will sustain the company once its manufacturing lines are operational.
