More Than 400 Cubic Metres In One Day At Tosyali-SULB

More Than 400 Cubic Metres In One Day At Tosyali-SULB

Recently, at the Tosyali SULB site in Benghazi, teams completed a major concrete pour in the Clarifier Area. Over 400 cubic meters of concrete were poured in a day, another important step forward in this section of the complex.

ㅤ

Work continued into the night with concrete mixers arriving and large boom pumps running around the reinforced foundations. Crews were working through heavy steel structures, steering the concrete into place and keeping the pour in motion.

ㅤ

The Clarifier Area is already progressing beyond the footings, reinforcing the walls in readiness for the next stage of construction. Teams had to carefully direct the concrete into the correct areas of the foundations, as steel structures and dense reinforcement were already in place.

ㅤ

Tosyali SULB is being developed as a large-scale DRI production complex to serve both Libya and the world markets. The project will comprise several production units, brought on stream in a phased fashion, with part of the future steel output earmarked for Libya's own market and much of the DRI expected to be shipped to customers abroad.

ㅤ

It can sound abstract to talk about the future size of the project, when it is described only in terms of investment figures and production capacity. On site it looks much simpler, concrete going in late into the evening, reinforcement going in and one area being prepared for the next team to move in.

ㅤ

A lot is still happening in the Clarifier Area. Concrete works are progressing and wall reinforcement is already underway but the foundations are moving forward steadily.
