Zulfa Begins Key Facility Finishings

Zulfa Begins Key Facility Finishings

There’s still plenty of work going on at the Zulfa Food Industries site, but the nature of that work is starting to change. The main structure is giving way to electrical work, insulation, painting and other finishing jobs in many buildings.

The Main Administration Building is a prime example. The electrical network and main wiring are complete. Teams are insulating the walls and working on the interiors. Tiles are being laid, walls are ready for a coat of paint. The cafeteria is further along, and most of its main construction is complete. Then comes the final painting and finishing, the installation of the kitchen equipment and the preparation of the service areas.

The main factory has had its construction debris cleared from inside and floors are being levelled ready for the next phase of work. The wall insulation is finished and we are starting to roof. The Boiler Room next door has also moved on, with most of the preparation work done and the plastering now underway.

The warehouses are at a more primitive stage so the work looks a little different. Still working on the internal partitions and walls to separate the spaces for raw materials, operational supplies and finished products. Plastering is ongoing, with areas being completed and other areas being prepared for waterproofing and insulation.

The General Maintenance Hangar is now progressing into the internal fit-out where the area will be divided off and readied for future maintenance work. The Technical Management Building is having electrical connections and air-conditioning done and the walls are being prepared for their final coat of paint.

The same kind of change is visible in the residential and service areas. The Engineers’ and VIP Buildings are down to the final finishing touches and lighting and security systems are going in the staff building. The service kitchen has had its floor and wall tiles laid, and air-conditioning work is well advanced in most areas of the complex. The meeting hall has also taken its final architectural form.

Now work is spreading into the space between the buildings as well. Roads within are being marked out, landscaping is almost complete in many parts of the site and underground cable and sewage routes are being covered.

With different areas at different stages, there is no single point that defines where Zulfa stands today. So, there is no one point that can be said to define Zulfa today. But instead, the change comes in dozens of smaller jobs taking place all across the site. A wall is prepped for the final time, a cable is run, a room is turned over or another area is ready for equipment.

Those jobs are slowly pulling the different parts of Zulfa together and bringing the site closer to being finished.
