Zulfa Factory Close to Completion

The Zulfa Food Industries project is moving along well with more sections of the factory now in the final stages of construction. While work continues throughout the site, recent progress indicates the project is moving from the structural phase of construction into the detailed work that will prepare the facility for day to day operations.
One of the latest milestones was the arrival of the factory’s doors and windows, provided by Turkish contractor Patner Teknik. Now that the materials have arrived on site and are ready to be put in place, another important section of the building can begin to take on the interior finishing works which are already well underway.
Progress has also been made within the main buildings. Work on electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning installation, aluminium works and roof insulation is now complete and the cafeteria is nearing completion. While the Administration Building has gone through another important stage with plastering completed, marble finishing put in place, and tile installation underway along with preparations for the remaining interior works.
Other site work has included making the factory ready for future operations and construction. Permanent locations for fuel tanks have been fitted, extensive cleaning has been undertaken throughout the building and work areas are being prepared for the next phase of technical installations. They might seem like smaller jobs than constructing the
factory itself but they are vital steps before equipment can be installed and operations can begin.
There’s also been continued planning behind the scenes. Al-Tour Company met with the technical, operations, safety and security teams to begin developing the surveillance and access-control systems for the factory. They have discussed where to place cameras, heat imaging devices and fingerprint access points, laying the groundwork for systems that will service the factory when it starts operations.
The project team also had its weekly coordination meeting to review work completed, discuss current challenges and plan for the next phase of construction. The meetings are a routine opportunity to keep all contractors and engineering teams on the same schedule and maintain the quality and safety standards expected on the project.
As more buildings approach completion and the preparations for future operations are already underway, the Zulfa Food Industries project continues to make steady progress toward the final stages of construction. Every job done, whether out of sight or on display, brings the factory that much closer to opening its doors.
